In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. You’ll leverage your automotive knowledge to accurately assess customer needs, provide detailed estimates, and recommend appropriate services—all while fostering lasting customer relationships. Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen actively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately record service requests.
- Explain repair and maintenance procedures clearly, ensuring customers understand their options and the benefits of recommended services.
- Prepare detailed auto estimates using auto estimating software, including labor, parts, and additional charges.
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, brake repairs, suspension work, transmissions, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs to enhance vehicle performance and safety.
- Coordinate with technicians and mechanics to prioritize repairs based on urgency and customer needs.
- Manage service writing processes efficiently while maintaining accurate records of all transactions and repairs.
- Handle cash transactions professionally when applicable, ensuring accuracy in billing and documentation.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and repair procedures to answer customer questions confidently.
- Foster positive relationships with customers by providing exceptional service experiences that encourage repeat business and referrals.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or automotive service management background is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures across various vehicle types including transmissions, diesel engines, suspensions, tires, shocks & struts, brakes, air brakes, alignments, and oil changes.
- Experience in auto estimating software and service writing is essential for accurate quoting and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Background in mechanic work or service technician roles is advantageous for understanding technical details.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly yet professional approach to client interactions.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately along with strong organizational skills.
