Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Parts Manager to assist in our parts department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory control and supply chain management, particularly within the automotive industry. This role is essential for ensuring that our operations run smoothly by managing the procurement, storage, and distribution of parts efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess.
- Utilize CDK and X-time systems for effective data entry, inventory ordering, and tracking.
- Coordinate with suppliers to purchase parts at competitive prices and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Oversee the receiving, storing, and distribution of automotive parts and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating forklifts and handling materials.
- Collaborate with the service department to forecast parts needs based on repair schedules.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to maintain accuracy and accountability.
- Train and supervise staff in best practices for parts management and customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in parts management or a similar role within the automotive repair or auto body repair industry.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and inventory control techniques.
- Familiarity with CDK, X-TIME, or similar software systems for data entry and management.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing stock levels.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members, suppliers, and customers.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
