Position Overview
The F&I Manager is responsible for securing financing for customers, maximizing backend profitability, and ensuring full legal and compliance standards are met. This role plays a critical part in delivering a smooth, transparent, and efficient buying experience while protecting the dealership and customer.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Deal Structuring
- Secure financing approvals through banks, credit unions, and lenders
- Structure deals to maximize profitability while staying within lender guidelines
- Present and explain all financing options clearly to customers
- Ensure accuracy of deal paperwork before funding
Product Sales (Backend)
- Present and sell F&I products (service contracts, GAP, warranties, etc.)
- Maintain strong product penetration and profitability targets
- Clearly explain benefits and coverage to customers
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all deals comply with federal, state, and lender regulations
- Maintain 100% accurate and complete deal jackets
- Properly disclose all vehicle history (including branded/rebuilt titles when applicable)
- Submit contracts in a timely manner for funding
Customer Experience
- Provide a professional, transparent, and pressure-controlled experience
- Answer all customer questions regarding financing and protection products
- Maintain high customer satisfaction and online reputation
Lender & Partner Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with lenders and financial institutions
- Stay updated on lender programs, rates, and approval guidelines
Daily Expectations
- Review all deals before final delivery
- Work closely with the sales team to structure and close deals
- Ensure fast turnaround from approval to funding
- Maintain consistent follow-up with lenders on pending deals
- Monitor and improve product penetration and backend gross
Qualifications
- Previous automotive F&I experience required
- Strong understanding of lending, credit, and deal structuring
- Proven track record of backend product sales
- High attention to detail and compliance knowledge
- Excellent communication and closing skills
