The Automotive Assistant Sales Manager (ASM) must be assertive when it comes to delegating and must be highly organized. They need to possess strong leadership and communication traits, as well as maintain a positive approach to their job. They should be passionate about customer service, and they should understand basic technology with great computer skills. Math and analytical skills are also required because assistant sales managers hold jobs that revolve around numbers. On top of those things, they must be professional, courteous, resilient and patient.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School/GED required; post secondary education or coursework desired
- At least 1-3 years of automotive sales experience required
- Proven track record of successfully meeting and exceeding sales goals
- Excellent customer service, organizational and negotiation/closing skills
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented and enthusiastic presence in a team environment
- Strong communication, presentation and writing skills
- CDK Experience is a Plus
- DealerSocket Experience is a Plus
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
RESPONSIBILITIES
- As the driving force for profits and growth in the New/Pre Owned Vehicle department the A.S.M. is the energy behind retail sales and satisfied customers. They must create and communicate an action plan for each salesperson and ensure all members understand the expectations. An ability to demonstrate these attributes is required in this position.
- Must enforce all content of the sales associates written job descriptions
- Satisfy the Customer – The A.S.M is the driver behind achieving high customer satisfaction and manufacturer certification. This is not the job of the CRM – it falls squarely on the A.S.M. Must lead the entire staff in their efforts.
- Team Building - Must ensure the best people are in all positions. The A.S.M. must recruit, hire and train quality people in all positions. All critical positions must have qualified, trained replacements to allow your people to grow further and to provide larger benefits to the company. You must also be directly aligned with the Finance Director to make timely decisions to maximize departmental profits.
- You cannot expect the sales associate to do something that you are not willing to do so making effective phone calls with the sales associate is vital. The daily minimum .required C.T.I. number is 40 for an A.S.M.
- Training - Must ensure the store has a monthly schedule for consistent sales training prepared prior to the beginning of the month. All meetings must have an agenda and attendance roster. All applicable manufacturer training required for certification must be completed and tracked in your department. Sales training is done daily
- Must follow C.S.I. and sales to service handoff processes 100% and achieve above region as well as above national manufacture scores.
