Duties
- Manage the entire service department, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of service technicians and support staff to achieve high standards of performance and professionalism
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension work, alignments, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Ensure accurate service writing and auto estimating to provide transparent quotes and facilitate upselling opportunities that enhance revenue
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards across all repair processes
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, ensuring positive experiences that foster loyalty and repeat business
- Monitor parts inventory levels and order supplies as needed to keep operations running smoothly
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately while maintaining detailed records of transactions
- Promote automotive sales by advising customers on vehicle upgrades or additional services that meet their needs
Experience
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management is essential
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical repair techniques, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Hands-on experience with service technician supervision and training
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing practices
- Strong understanding of automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, brakes, alignments, suspension components, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair techniques
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Prior experience in sales within an automotive setting is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Mechanical knowledge combined with dealership experience ensures comprehensive understanding of vehicle repairs
