Hatchett Buick GMC is seeking a driven, results-oriented Used Car Sales Manager to lead our pre-owned vehicle department. This individual will be responsible for overseeing inventory management including acquisition, pricing strategy, merchandising, sales performance, and profitability while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with automotive management experience, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of increasing used vehicle sales and gross profit.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage all aspects of the used vehicle department
- Source and acquire quality pre-owned inventory through auctions, trades, and wholesalers
- Analyze market trends and adjust pricing strategies to maximize profitability
- Work closely with sales managers and finance team to ensure deal structure and customer satisfaction
- Monitor inventory aging and merchandising standards
- Train, coach, and motivate the sales team
- Ensure department performance meets dealership goals for sales volume, gross profit, and customer retention
- Maintain compliance with dealership policies and manufacturer standards
- Review and approve appraisals and trade values
- Experience with vAuto, VinSolutions and Tekion are a plus!
Qualifications
- Previous automotive sales management experience required
- Strong knowledge of used vehicle operations and market pricing
- Proven leadership and team-building abilities
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Strong organizational and computer skills
