Job Summary
Marburger CDJR is seeking a dynamic and experienced Domestic Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive profitability through effective management of the service team. Your leadership will ensure that vehicle repairs and maintenance are performed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the automotive service department, including scheduling, workflow, and technician assignments to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension work, tire services, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, air brake systems, and auto body repairs.
- Lead and motivate a team of service technicians and mechanics by providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality work.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally, providing transparent explanations of repair needs and estimates while ensuring excellent customer service experiences.
- Promote upselling of additional services and maintenance packages to enhance customer value and dealership revenue.
- Oversee auto estimating and service writing processes to accurately document repairs and communicate effectively with customers.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and ensure all work adheres to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately while maintaining detailed records of transactions.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures across various vehicle types.
- Hands-on mechanic experience with expertise in auto repair specialties such as transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, alignments, suspension components, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repairs.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Skilled in auto estimating software and service writing to produce accurate repair orders and invoices.
- Strong sales acumen with the ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity.
- Ability to lead a team efficiently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
