Automotive Service Manager

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, drive service revenue, ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, manage technicians and advisors, and maintain high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
This role requires strong leadership skills, automotive industry knowledge, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the automotive service department.
- Lead, coach, and develop service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
- Monitor workflow, productivity, and repair quality to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure excellent customer service and timely resolution of customer concerns.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase service sales and profitability.
- Review and manage repair orders, estimates, and warranty claims.
- Maintain compliance with manufacturer standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Track and analyze department performance metrics, including labor sales, parts sales, gross profit, and customer satisfaction scores.
- Recruit, train, and retain high-performing team members.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure efficient inventory management and parts availability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of automotive service management or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, warranty procedures, and dealership or independent shop operations.
- Proven ability to lead teams and achieve performance goals.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with service management software and dealership management systems (DMS) preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills
- ASE certification or automotive technical background.
- Experience managing service department budgets and KPIs.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturer warranty and compliance requirements.

Pay: $92,539.84 - $123,381.31 per year
