A service advisor for truck equipment acts as the primary liaison between fleet customers and the service department. Their main responsibility is to translate complex technical truck issues into clear repair plans and cost estimates for clients while managing the workflow. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE. PREFERRED CANDIDATES MUST HAVE LONG TERM, STABLE WORK HISTORY IN A RELEVANT FIELD. ABOVE AVERAGE PAY BASED ON RELEVANT EXPERIENCE!!
Core Responsibilities
- Customer Intake & Diagnosis: Greet customers, verify vehicle information (including mileage and unit numbers), and document specific equipment concerns using open-ended questions.
- Warranty Coordination: Identify and process warranty claims, including manufacturer-specific recalls and federal emissions warranties.
- Communication & Updates: Provide consistent status updates to customers (often every two hours) regarding repair timelines and any found supplemental service needs.
- Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of heavy-duty truck systems, diesel engines, and specialized truck equipment is crucial for accurate troubleshooting.
- Communication: Ability to translate "mechanic speak" into plain language and handle stressed customers with empathy and professionalism.
- Sales Acumen: Ethical upselling of preventative maintenance services to increase the "Hours Sold per Repair Order".
