A luxury dealership in Bergen County, NJ is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a smooth and positive service experience. Your enthusiasm, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication skills will drive customer satisfaction and help grow our service department.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Provide accurate estimates using automotive diagnostics tools and estimating software
- Explain repair procedures clearly, including upselling recommended services such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, suspension work, and transmission repairs
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion of services
- Maintain detailed service records and write clear service reports for customers
- Communicate effectively with clients about vehicle status, additional repair opportunities, and cost estimates
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Service Advisor experience in a private, franchise, or dealership setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a mechanic or service technician beneficial
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, estimating software, and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving experience is essential

The estimated annual earnings for this position ranges from $70,000 to $150,000. This is a performance driven position, eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives as part of total compensation, which includes commission based off individual sales and gross profit, and bonuses based on individual manufacturer approvability, customer pay labor per RO, and flat rate hours. Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
