Duties
- Lead and motivate the service department team to achieve high standards of performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Oversee daily service operations; including scheduling appointments, assigning work to technicians, and ensuring timely completion of repairs
- Manage customer interactions by providing clear communication on vehicle status, repair estimates, and service recommendations
- Implement upselling strategies to promote additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, brake repairs, transmissions, diesel engine repairs, suspension work, shocks & struts, air brake systems, auto body repairs, and other automotive diagnostics
- Ensure all service work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Maintain accurate service writing and auto estimating records to OEM Warranty standards
- Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies necessary for vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks
- Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques
- Uphold dealership policies for quality control, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management
- Extensive knowledge of automotive repair including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, wheel alignments, suspension systems, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brake systems and auto body repair
- Hands-on mechanic experience combined with excellent mechanical knowledge to understand complex diagnostics and repairs
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics tools and software for accurate troubleshooting
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Experience in auto estimating and service writing to generate accurate repair orders and invoices
- Ability to upsell additional services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team of technicians and support staff effectively
- Competency in cash handling procedures along with sales experience related to automobile sales or parts sales
