Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Automotive Parts Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and expertise. Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of automotive parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution.
- Develop and implement demand planning strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize shortages or overstock situations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards, maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and order management software to track inventory levels, process purchase orders, and manage procurement workflows.
- Oversee warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, equipment repair, and warehouse safety protocols.
- Lead a team of warehouse staff and technicians by providing training on automotive diagnostics, equipment use (such as forklifts), and inventory management procedures.
- Maintain compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and industry standards for automotive service parts.
- Monitor supply chain performance metrics using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure accurate data entry related to inventory control, pricing adjustments, and procurement records.
- Support dealership or service center needs by providing exceptional customer service and technical knowledge on automotive parts.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supply chain management within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, OEM parts sourcing, and dealership operations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as AS400 or similar order management platforms.
- Hands-on warehouse management experience including shipping & receiving procedures and warehouse safety standards.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair processes and equipment repair is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills for supplier management and procurement negotiations.
- Proficiency in data entry, inventory control systems, and demand planning tools like CMMS or ERP software.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and external partners.
