Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Automotive Parts Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and expertise. Responsibilities
- Manage the entire supply chain process for automotive parts, including sourcing, purchasing, and inventory control to meet operational demands.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules that benefit the organization.
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage, organization, and safety protocols are followed consistently.
- Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and order management software to track inventory levels, process orders, and manage procurement workflows efficiently.
- Coordinate with automotive service departments to forecast demand planning needs based on upcoming repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Supervise shipping & receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing of incoming and outgoing parts.
- Lead efforts in automotive diagnostics and repair processes by providing mechanical knowledge support when needed.
- Implement inventory management best practices using tools like CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and quality standards for all parts handled.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics, sourcing strategies, and procurement management to maximize operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive parts management or dealership environments with a strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair processes, and OEM standards.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems, ERP platforms (such as AS400), and order management systems.
- Demonstrated ability in supplier management, negotiation skills, and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with inventory control techniques including demand planning, pricing strategies, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive service, auto body repair, equipment repair, HVAC systems or similar fields is highly desirable.
- Valid forklift certification along with experience operating warehouse equipment safely.
- Strong data entry skills combined with attention to detail for accurate record keeping within CMMS or similar systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
