We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to oversee our service department and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service and repair, with a focus on leading a team of technicians to deliver quality vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role requires excellent customer service skills, as well as the ability to manage operations efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Achieve monthly and yearly service goals
- Oversee the scheduling of service appointments and ensure timely completion of services.
- Train, mentor, and supervise service technicians to maintain high standards of work quality.
- Monitor inventory levels for automotive parts and supplies, placing orders as necessary. Process returns weekly as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and shop policies.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain financial records for services rendered.
- Review digital inspections with customers performed on vehicles, including oil changes, tire services, shocks, struts, heavy line and other automotive repairs.
Experience
- Proven experience in an automotive service management role or similar position within a dealership environment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and automotive repair practices.
- Experience with cash handling and financial record keeping.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Familiarity with managing a team of service technicians and coordinating their activities effectively.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide solutions promptly.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications in automotive service are a plus.
