Position Overview
Faulkner Hyundai of Philadelphia is seeking a high-performing, career-minded Automotive Service Manager to lead our high-volume service department. We are looking for an operational powerhouse who can build team culture, drive technician efficiency, and maintain the elite customer satisfaction that the Faulkner organization is famous for.
The ideal candidate will have full operational and financial accountability for the shop, treating the service drive and production bays as their own business unit.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Dealership Expertise: Proven experience as a Service Manager at a New Car (Franchise) Dealership is required.
- Brand Flexibility: Specific Hyundai experience is a major plus, but not required. We welcome top-tier leaders from all franchise backgrounds.
- Systems Proficiency: Strong command of major Dealer Management Systems (CDK, Dealertrack, or Reynolds & Reynolds) and electronic multi-point inspection (MPI) software.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Manage the daily operations of the service drive, dispatch system, and production shop to optimize workflow and reduce customer wait times.
- Financial Stewardship: Manage the department’s P&L. Monitor daily metrics including hours per repair order, effective labor rate (ELR), gross profit margin, and shop expenses.
- Team Development: Recruit, hire, train, and mentor service advisors, technicians, and support staff. Foster a high-accountability environment focused on technical growth.
- CSI Excellence: Maintain an unwavering commitment to the Faulkner brand's customer satisfaction standards, handling any guest escalations with professionalism and poise.
- Fixed Ops Synergy: Collaborate closely with the Parts Manager to ensure seamless parts-to-service flow and minimize technician downtime.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure the shop operates in absolute compliance with factory warranty policies, local environmental laws, and OSHA safety standards.
