Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for customers needing collision repairs, responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damage, preparing estimates, and coordinating repairs with our skilled technicians. Your expertise will ensure a smooth process from initial inspection to final delivery, delivering outstanding customer service every step of the way.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess extent of repairs needed
Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software
Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair procedures, costs, and timelines
Communicate with insurance companies and collecting payments.
Collaborate with technicians to ensure repair plans align with estimates and customer expectations
Upsell additional services such as mechanical repairs or vehicle maintenance when appropriate
Manage all documentation related to estimates, work orders, and insurance claims
Follow up with customers post-repair to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns

Skills

Proven experience as a Body Shop Estimator within a dealership or collision center environment
Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair processes including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, alignment, shocks & struts, tire service, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, and auto body repair
Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing procedures
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust
Mechanical knowledge complemented by mechanic experience is highly desirable
Experience with dealership operations and auto sales processes is a plus
Cash handling experience and familiarity with insurance claim procedures are beneficial
