Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Parts Manager to oversee our parts department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, diesel service, and inventory control. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient management of parts and supplies, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Duties
- Manage the procurement and inventory of automotive and diesel parts ensuring optimal stock levels to meet demand.
- Oversee supplier management, including sourcing and negotiating contracts with vendors to secure favorable pricing.
- Utilize ERP systems and order management systems for tracking inventory levels, orders, and shipments.
- Implement effective demand planning strategies to forecast parts needs based on sales trends and customer requirements.
- Ensure efficient warehouse management practices, including shipping & receiving processes and equipment repair.
- Maintain accurate data entry records related to inventory control, procurement, and logistics.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries regarding parts availability and specifications.
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely availability of parts for automotive repairs.
- Train and supervise staff in warehouse operations, including forklift operation and safety protocols.
- Utilize CMMS for maintenance scheduling and tracking equipment performance.
Experience
- Proven experience in parts management, preferably within the diesel industry or a related field.
- Familiarity with diesel diagnostics, HVAC systems, and auto body repair is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Proficiency in inventory management practices and tools such as inventory systems.
- Previous dealership or fleet experience is a plus, along with a solid understanding of pricing strategies and negotiation techniques.
- Experience in logistics, sourcing, purchasing, and demand planning will be beneficial for this role.
