Who we are:
Columbia CDJR is a family-owned Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram store 45 minutes south of Nashville, part of a five-store automotive dealership group (a. We are in the middle of converting the store to a velocity model — market-based day-1 pricing, true-cost accounting, no packs inflating vehicle cost, fast reconditioning, and a hard aged-inventory discipline. Our target is 150+ retail units a month, and we are adding a desk manager to get there.
This is not a gross-grinding store. If your proudest number is your front-end PVR, this isn't the fit. If your proudest number is your turn rate and your total gross dollars, keep reading.
What you'll do
- Desk new and used deals across a 6-day retail floor, sharing coverage with our existing desk manager
- Work every deal to maximize total gross — front plus F&I — at market-based pricing, and set up clean F&I turns
- Execute our pricing discipline: units priced to market day 1, aged-unit rules enforced without exception
- Run save-a-deal daily; log and work every dead deal
- Coach salespeople on a volume floor — we staff and pay for units, not grinding
- Contribute trade appraisals that win deals (we appraise to true cost, so you can step up)
How you're paid
Both desk managers are on the same plan: monthly draw, a percentage of total department true gross (front + F&I, after chargebacks), and an uncapped per-unit volume bonus that escalates as the store's monthly unit count climbs. When the store wins, you win — there is no ceiling on this plan.
What we're looking for
- 4+ years of desking deals at a automotive dealership retailing 100+ units/month, OR management experience at a high-turn/one-price operation (CarMax, EchoPark or a velocity-model franchise store)
- Fluency in market-based pricing and inventory turn metrics (vAuto/ProfitTime experience a plus)
- Strong F&I setup habits — you treat the handoff as part of the deal, not the end of yours
- CRM discipline (we run DriveCentric) and comfort being measured weekly on a published scoreboard
- Valid driver's license; ability to work Saturdays and a rotating schedule
Why this role, right now
You'd be joining at the start of the rebuild, not after it. The cost structure has been reset so deals pencil competitively, the pay plan is built to reward volume without a cap, and the group is growing — five stores across four states, with room for people who perform. Our leadership reviews one scoreboard weekly; if you produce, everyone will know it.
To apply: submit your resume with a short note including the average monthly unit volume of the store you currently desk.
