Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Automotive General Manager to lead a German luxury franchise dealership. This is a hands-on role for a proven leader who is comfortable working the desk, closing deals, TO’ing customers, and driving daily performance. The ideal candidate leads from the front, sets the tone on the showroom floor, and holds teams accountable through strong processes and consistent execution.

This role requires deep operational knowledge, strong financial acumen, and the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Leadership

Actively work the desk, close deals, and assist sales managers and consultants with negotiations and deal structure
Drive new and pre-owned vehicle sales volume, gross profit, and PVR
Oversee pricing strategy, inventory turn, and cost-to-market discipline
Ensure consistent execution of the sales process using eLeads CRM

Operational Management

Lead all dealership operations including Sales, F&I, Service, Parts, and BDC
Utilize CDK as the primary DMS to manage reporting, forecasting, and operational controls
Monitor and improve key KPIs: sales efficiency, CSI, gross, expenses, and net profitability
Maintain strong compliance with OEM, state, and federal regulations

Team Leadership & Development

Recruit, train, coach, and retain top talent across all departments
Lead by example with a visible showroom presence and daily engagement
Hold department leaders accountable through regular performance reviews and goal setting
Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on growth and accountability

Customer Experience & Brand Standards

Ensure an exceptional customer experience aligned with German luxury brand standards
Personally assist with escalated customer situations when needed
Maintain strong CSI and OEM performance metrics

Qualifications

Proven experience as a General Manager (or Senior Sales Director / GSM ready for GM role) in an automotive dealership
Prior experience with German luxury brands preferred
Strong working knowledge of CDK and eLeads CRM
Demonstrated success working the desk and closing deals
Strong financial understanding of dealership P&L statements
High-energy, hands-on leadership style with strong communication skills
