The Opportunity
We have two junior salespeople in New Jersey and a market we know can be significantly larger. What is missing is a leader — someone who will take ownership of the operation, develop the team, build the right partnerships, and drive real results.
This is not a role for someone who wants to maintain what already exists. This is a role for someone who wants to build what is possible.
You will report directly to the CEO. You will have genuine autonomy over how you run the market. And you will be compensated based on what you deliver — including a path to equity participation in New Jersey's growth.
What You Will Be Responsible For
As General Manager, you will own the full commercial performance of MotorEnvy's New Jersey market. Your core responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership. Day-to-day leadership and development of the NJ sales team. Setting standards, coaching performance, and growing the team as the market grows.
Revenue and P&L Ownership. Driving top-line revenue and managing the market's financial results. You will know the numbers, understand the levers, and make decisions accordingly.
B2B Partnership Development. Building relationships with luxury and exotic car clubs, concierge services, wealth management firms, family offices, and high-net-worth networks that will generate consistent referral business.
Client Experience Management. Ensuring every MotorEnvy client in New Jersey receives the concierge-level experience our brand is built on — from first inquiry through delivery and beyond.
Strategic Collaboration. Working closely with the CEO and our Florida team on marketing, inventory strategy, pricing, and growth initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
The right candidate has spent meaningful time in the automotive world and has been quietly frustrated that the place they work does not run the way they know it could. They have the relationships, the instincts, and the drive. They are ready for a role where those things are actually put to use.
Required experience and qualities:
5 or more years in automotive sales, sales management, or business development — with exposure to luxury, exotic, or premium vehicles strongly preferred
A demonstrated history of growing revenue, building client relationships, or developing new business channels
Experience leading, coaching, or developing others — a formal management title is not required, but the ability to lead is
Financial literacy — comfortable reading a P&L and making decisions based on it
An existing network in New Jersey or the tri-state area is a significant advantage
Self-directed and accountable — someone who does not need to be managed, only supported
This role is a strong fit if you have worked in any of the following:
Luxury or exotic car dealership (sales management, GSM, or senior sales)
Independent automotive brokerage or acquisition firm
High-end pre-owned vehicle operation
Luxury leasing or fleet management with a private client focus
Adjacent luxury services (private aviation, yacht brokerage, luxury hospitality) with a strong automotive background
The total compensation opportunity for a high performer in this role is materially above the base range. We are not looking for someone motivated purely by a salary — we are looking for someone motivated by what they can build.
