We are seeking a high-energy, process-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales floor. This is a "player-coach" role designed for a leader who is technically proficient in the "box" but prefers to spend their time driving the sales floor and developing talent.
Note on F&I: This role requires a candidate with deep Finance and Desking experience. You must be able to fluently structure deals, submit to lenders, and manage the deal flow from the desk to ensure maximum efficiency and funding speed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deal Structuring & Desking (The "Technical" Side)
- Expert Desking: Structure deals for maximum profitability while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Lender Submission: Navigate credit portals and manage bank relationships to secure approvals and "sell" the deal to the lender.
- Appraisals: Perform accurate vehicle appraisals to ensure competitive trade-in values and profitable inventory acquisition.
- Funding Oversight: Take full ownership of the "Contracts in Transit" (CIT) list. You are responsible for ensuring all stipulations are met so deals are funded immediately.
2. Staff Development & Activity Tracking (The "Coach" Side)
- Activity Management: Monitor daily sales activities—leads, outbound calls, appointments, and demos.
- Ongoing Training: Lead daily/weekly training sessions to improve closing ratios, phone skills, and product knowledge.
- Performance Accountability: Hold the sales team accountable to specific KPIs and dealership standards.
3. Manufacturer Compliance & Operations
- Training Compliance: Ensure all staff members are 100% compliant with manufacturer-mandated training modules.
- Delivery Technology: Oversee the implementation of manufacturer delivery tools and tablets to ensure a modern, compliant customer experience.
- Audit Readiness: Maintain deal jackets and digital records to pass both manufacturer and internal audits.
Required Experience & Skills
- F&I/Desking Proficiency: 3+ years of experience in an F&I Manager or Sales Manager role. You must be able to desk a deal from scratch and understand lender tiers and stipulations.
- Proven Leadership: Experience managing a sales team of 5+ individuals with a focus on coaching rather than just "bossing."
- Tech Savvy: Advanced proficiency with CRM systems, DMS, and manufacturer portals.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to diagnose a "stalled" deal or a struggling salesperson by looking at the data.
