Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe and operational. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle systems, including diesel engines, and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. This role will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fleet equipment, enabling maximum operational rates while maintaining a safe, positive, and efficient work environment.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
- Diagnose and repair issues with diesel engines and other vehicle systems using automotive diagnostics tools.
- Align, assemble, and fabricate parts as needed to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems before they become serious issues.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training.

- Perform complex maintenance on fleet tractors, trailers, and other equipment, including hydraulics and the ability to weld.
- Maintain DOT Inspection schedules and routine maintenance as required on all fleet vehicles.
- Coordinate with GM and fleet manager as needed to perform DOT inspections and maintenance.
- Track, schedule, and perform routine preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment.
- Work with vendors and accounting to track maintenance costs and spare parts inventory.
- Perform quarterly and annual tool inventory

Experience and Education
- Education – Certified Heavy-Diesel Mechanic for tractor/trailer equipment required
- Experience – minimum one to two years related diesel mechanic experience required
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly with diesel engines.
- Familiarity with schematics and technical manuals for various types of vehicles.
- Previous experience working in a dealership or similar environment is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards in all repair work
- Experience with DEF systems is strongly preferred
