Hybrid Service Advisor Manager & Automotive Technician (hands on)
We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Hybrid Service Advisor Manager /
Automotive Technician to join our growing team in Spring, Texas. This is a unique
leadership role designed for someone who combines strong automotive repair
knowledge with excellent customer service and sales skills.
Unlike a traditional quick lube position, this role bridges the gap between a skilled
technician and a service manager. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing
hands-on repairs while also educating customers, recommending maintenance
services, managing workflows, and helping drive shop performance.
As we expand into extended automotive services and premium maintenance
programs featuring high-quality products, we are looking for someone who can help
elevate the customer experience while maintaining efficiency, honesty, and technical

Principal Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Automotive Service & Repair
- Oil changes and preventive maintenance services:
Air, cabin, and fuel filter replacement
Windshield wiper installation
Fuel system related cleaner services
- Perform flushes: coolant, differential, brake, power steering, and fuel
- Brakes: pad, rotor, and caliper replacement
- Tire rotations
- Spark plug replacement
- Battery inspection and replacement
- State inspections
Customer Service & Sales
- Greet customers warmly, professionally, and promptly
- Build trust and win repeat, long-term loyal customers
- Educate customers on vehicle health and preventive maintenance by explaining recommended services clearly and honestly
- Introduce and recommend BG maintenance products and services
- Provide accurate service estimates and timelines including wait times
- Properly document all recommendations, issues, and/or concerns with each customer
- Communicate effectively with lube technicians to relay customer requests and ensure timely service delivery
- Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy
- Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs in a “non-mechanical” fashion
- Ability to work collaboratively with lube technicians and other team members
- Maintain safety procedures and report any concerns to shop manager
- Help improve ticket averages while maintaining ethical sales practices
- Ability to work flexible schedules Mondays through Saturdays but never on Sundays
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of automotive technician / mechanic experience (prior experience verification)
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and light repair services
- Ability to address and resolve customer issues effectively and professionally
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to recommend services confidently and professionally
- Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Driver’s license
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual (spanish)
Preferred
- Possess State Inspector License or ability to obtain a State Inspector license (in applicable locations) within 30 days of hire date
- Automotive Technical School training or certification preferred
- Experience in quick lube or automotive service centers
- Previous leadership, assistant manager, or service advisor experience
- ASE certifications
