CONFIDENTIAL – Automotive Parts Manager
Location: New Mexico
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $48,000 – $65,000+ per year (based on experience)
A well-established automotive operation in New Mexico is immediately seeking an experienced Automotive Parts Manager to oversee daily parts department operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong experience in inventory management, RMA processing, fleet support, and parts ordering within an automotive environment.
The ideal candidate will have automotive dealership parts experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team while maintaining inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Parts Department while supporting internal customers, including technicians and shop management
- Supervise and control parts inventory, ensuring accurate counts, proper stocking, and visibility of aging inventory and ROI
- Manage RMA processes, shortages, backorders, and warranty-related returns
- Prepare and provide accurate parts quotes for fleet vehicles, builds, and repairs
- Order parts and accessories from multiple manufacturers and suppliers
- Collaborate closely with Shop Manager and technicians to ensure timely parts availability for scheduled repairs and builds
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and process receipts accurately in the system
- Assemble complete parts orders for technicians and scheduled projects
- Forecast department goals and manage inventory levels accordingly
- Maintain compliance with manufacturer policies, warranty requirements, and return procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting parts operations
- Implement and enforce safety procedures within the department
- Train, supervise, motivate, and evaluate parts department staff
- Oversee stock order procedures and ensure proper inventory placement and organization
- Maintain accurate electronic inventory records and reporting
- Communicate proactively regarding inventory concerns that may impact operations
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of Parts Management or supervisory experience
- Previous experience in a municipal parts department or upfitting environment is a plus
- Experience with inventory control, forecasting, and fiscal oversight
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Strong customer service, organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
