Job Overview
As a Service Manager, you will be the driving force behind our automotive service department, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and operational excellence. Your leadership will empower a team of skilled technicians and service writers to deliver top-notch vehicle maintenance and repair services. What you’ll do
- Lead and mentor a team of service technicians, ensuring high-quality automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation.
- Engage with customers to provide outstanding service, addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism and expertise.
- Implement effective upselling techniques to enhance service sales while maintaining customer trust.
- Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team updated on automotive repair techniques, including transmissions, brakes, alignment, and diesel engine repair.
- Manage service writing processes to ensure accurate auto estimating and documentation of services performed.
- Monitor cash handling procedures to maintain financial integrity within the department.
- Collaborate with dealership management to develop strategies for improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in auto service management within a dealership environment is essential.
- Strong background in automotive diagnostics with mechanical knowledge across various systems including suspension, air brakes, shocks & struts, tire service, oil changes, and auto body repair.
- Previous experience as a mechanic or service technician is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building lasting relationships.
- Demonstrated ability in sales and upselling automotive services effectively.
- Familiarity with cash handling processes and financial reporting in an automotive setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry standards for vehicle maintenance and repair practices.
