Job Overview
JN Chevrolet is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Consultant to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle service and repairs, ensuring a seamless experience from intake to vehicle delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to upsell additional services to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership revenue.
Compensation is a monthly salary of $2,000.00 plus monthly incentives. Compensation may vary based on the monthly incentives and can be discussed during the interview.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns
- Diagnose vehicle issues using automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical knowledge
- Prepare detailed service estimates, including auto estimating and service writing
- Recommend necessary repairs such as oil changes, brake repair, transmission work, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, alignment, air brake systems, and auto body repair
- Upsell additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and services
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation of services performed
- Assist customers in understanding repair procedures and answer questions about automotive repair processes
- Manage service appointments efficiently to maximize dealership productivity
Requirements
- Must have 2 years of related experience and/or training in dealership auto service management or automotive repair environment
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, brakes, suspensions, alignments, and diesel engines
- Experience with automotive diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting
- Must have 1 year experience in sales or front-line customer service position
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to upsell services tactfully while maintaining customer trust
- Background in auto estimating, service writing, and auto body repair is preferred
- Familiarity with auto sales processes and automobile sales experience is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge combined with service technician experience enhances effectiveness in this role
- Must have a current driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driver's abstract.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable for this position
Pay: $2,000.00 - $6,700.00 per month
