We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department with energy and expertise. Duties
- Lead and motivate the service department team, including technicians, service writers, and support staff, to achieve high performance standards
- Oversee all aspects of automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as transmissions, brakes, suspensions, alignments, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts
- Manage daily shop operations including workflow scheduling, parts ordering, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols
- Drive customer satisfaction by providing transparent service writing, accurate auto estimating, and effective communication throughout the repair process
- Implement upselling strategies by recommending additional services like oil changes or vehicle maintenance packages to enhance customer value
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining detailed records of service orders and payments
- Monitor inventory levels for parts and tools necessary for efficient vehicle repairs
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and automotive industry standards
Experience
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management is essential
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, and diesel engines
- Hands-on mechanic experience or familiarity with service technician roles enhances leadership capabilities
- Demonstrated success in upselling services and automobile sales to meet revenue targets
- Proficiency in auto estimating software and service writing practices is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills ensures a positive client experience
- Experience handling cash transactions accurately and managing inventory effectively is preferred
